Hello, I am Dr. Ramon Rivera,

As the CEO and President of Tri State Bariatrics, I congratulate you on making the decision to have weight loss surgery! I am one of the four surgeons at Tri State Bariatrics, specializing in weight loss surgery. In 2003, I completed my medical training at Drexel University College of Medicine. I continued my training in 2004 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. As a published author on the topic of laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery and has presented his results for the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), I understand the adverse effects of obesity in our country. Being an active member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery has allowed me to empathize with each patient seeking a healthier lifestyle through bariatric surgery.

For the past 15 years, I completed well over 2000 laparoscopic bariatric procedures and am licensed in both New York and New Jersey. I specialize in Bariatric Surgery and Advanced Gastrointestinal surgery, as well as in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases including esophagus, stomach, biliary tract, and colon. I joined Tri State Bariatrics in 2013, which allowed me to lend my specialty in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Tri State’s viable weight loss program and extensive patient after-care are the main reasons I joined the practice. My goal is to facilitate each patient’s weight loss journey, by providing a comprehensive bariatric program.

I look forward to meeting and discussing with any patient seeking weight loss surgery for improved health. Let our multi-disciplinary team of Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, and Psychologist, guide you to achieve your long-term weight loss goals for a healthier and happier you.
