Adopting a Positive Attitude to Maximize Your Success

To successfully achieve your weight loss goal, you must make the right choices consistently. You can make the right choices by accepting a positive, can-do attitude. Put a positive spin on everything and look for the silver lining. Just as bad things, snowball and become larger, good things can too. Each of the choices we make lead to consequences. Good choices foster positive results.
Most of us do not consciously make the choice to stay overweight. The decisions we make will impact our ability to reach our goal weight. Good choices foster positive results. Alternatively, bad choices cause progress to come to a halt, or worse, create negative results.
Use self talk to motivate yourself. Self-talk is what goes on inside your head automatically. Most people are unaware of the conversation that goes on inside their heads and therefore are unaware of the great effects it has on how they feel and act. What you say to yourself can put you in control of your life. Become aware of the rationalizations and justifications that you give yourself. Decide you will not listen to this talk and that you intend to be successful. Any decision you make concerning eating and exercise will impact your ability to reach your goal and stay at your goal. Always ask yourself “will this get me closer to my goal weight or keep me from my goal. Positive self-talk creates positive feelings, which in turn lead to positive behaviors.
If your motivation is diminished, challenge yourself by setting a new goal. Keep moving forward. Motivation must be manufactured every day. It does not happen automatically.
Forgive yourself and move on. We cannot change what has already happened, but we can change what happens next. When we dwell on our mistake, we stress ourselves and the feeling bad will move us into a negative spiral. This negative spiral is hard to break free from. Set yourself on the right track for positive results.
