My weight loss journey timeline
My weight loss journey started in college, I was always a plump young lady from 8th grade being a size 14. In college I joined “Jake a Lane” and went down to a size 8, by the time I got married in May 1981 I was a size 10.
Needless to say the journey continued throughout the years Weight Watcher on & off including gym memberships.
When my husband past away in March 2004 and left me alone with three special needs children ages 6,8 and 11, I ballooned up to size 24/26. My last straw was at my primary care doctor’s office Dec. 2012 on the scale I was 278lbs. I was horrified and decided right there I was going to have the gastric bypass surgery because I had a friend that had it and they look great. One had it 6yrs ago and the other 18 years at that time.
One of them used Dr. Rivera with Tri State Bariatrics. So I researched the Internet and had my first appt on Jan. 22, 2013 at 270lbs.
My gastric bypass surgery was on April 22, 2013 at 265lbs.
Thank you to Dr. Rivera and the staff for making this an enjoyable experience. The staff is very professional and will answer all your questions with a smile.
I would recommend this group without any hesitation through my experience.
I remain a very happy and excited patient at 100lbs lighter and counting.
