Dr. Ramon E. Rivera is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He specializes in Bariatric Surgery and Advanced Gastrointestinal surgery. He specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases including esophagus, stomach, biliary tract, colon and weight loss surgery for morbid obesity. He is a published author on the topic of laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery and has presented his results for the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Dr. Rivera has over 15 years of laparoscopic surgery experience and has been performing bariatric surgery for over 10 years. He is the founder and director of RecoverHealth Bariatrics, which recently merged with Tri-State Bariatrics. His primary interests lie in minimally invasive surgery and the study of longterm weight loss success with his entire team at Tristate Bariatrics.
My name is Dr. Ramon Rivera. I am a bariatric surgeon specialized in weight loss surgery for the management of obesity. I completed my surgical training in Drexel University College of Medicine in 2003 and went on to specialized in laparoscopic surgery in 2004 at Washington University in St Louis.
I have been practicing bariatric surgery for the past 15 years and all together I completed more than 2000 Laparoscopic surgeries and bariatric procedures.
I joined Tri State Bariatrics because we have a family of specialists and have created an eco-system in the management and after-care for the patient that undergo surgery in our service.
My interest is in the long term weight loss of the patient. I look forward to addressing the need of the patient though the care of a multi-disciplinary bariatric team including our dietitians, nurses, Phycologist and our surgeons.
